JUMPING EQUITATION CLINIC
and NCAS PC, EA COACHES UPDATE with
DAVID QUICK
at Westbury Showground on Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th August 2010 at 9.00 am start
This is an update for Jumping Equitation Judges, PC and EA Coaches, Trainees, Pencillers and Riders - a weekend that all coaches; particularly jumping instructors, should endeavour to attend. Anyone else who is interested and/or prepared to become involved in this area. please come along. We are short of judges in particular.
Riders attending will be guinea pigs, but will certainly gain some very helpful tips and riding techniques.
Attached you will find the revised user-friendly PCAT JE scoresheet. We suggest you familiarise yourself with this beforehand.
We consider all EA Level 1 Coaches should be capable of judging JE and hope that many of the PCA Level 1s would be too. Jumping Equitation forms the basis of all show jumping. SO DO PLEASE COME ALONG AND LEARN WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR. There is NO CHARGE for coaches to attend.
Some coaches are being asked to ride, so if you are interested in coming as a rider coach please indicate on the form.
Cost In recognition of services provided, this clinic is being sponsored by the PCAT and EA. Riding coaches: NIL. Riders who can attend both days given priority. A variety of standards are required.
Bring: Folding chair, note book and pen, warm and water-proof clothing, food and a mug, (tea, coffee provided.) and PCAT Jumping Equitation Manual if you have a copy. Cost $10 if not. This was revised for the last clinic.
Accommodation: Distant coaches may be able to be billeted by Northern Zone members; contact Ann Graves.
Format: Classes for PC riders will be held in the afternoon, at which comments will be made and judging practice will take place. A variety of standards will be catered for.
The proposed programme / timetable has yet to be verified by David so will be sent to those who register an interest nearer the time.
On the Sun afternoon there will be some practical judging and an open-book theory exam for those completing judging accreditation.
Requirements to become an official JE Judge:
Attend two JE Clinics. Complete open-book exam paper. Judge five rounds satisfactorily in test situation.
Registration. These are needed so that we have the required number of print-outs ready for you.
Registrations and Enquiries: Ann Graves ASAP or by Friday 30th July at the latest. Preferably by Email to agraves@activ8.net.au Ph: 6362 2009 or post to 405 Mole Creek Rd, Deloraine 7304. Programme sent later.
